How do I log a meal?

Tap the + button on the home screen to open the meal logging flow. You can log a meal by taking a photo, scanning a barcode, scanning a receipt, or typing a description. Check out the Logging Meals guide for a full walkthrough.

How do I connect my CGM or upload glucose data?

Go to Profile and select Blood glucose uploads. You can import data from Dexcom Clarity, LibreView, or CamAPS FX. If you use a CGM that writes to Apple HealthKit, Bettie can read your glucose readings automatically once you grant permission. See the Uploading Blood Sugar guide for step-by-step instructions.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play — not within the app itself. To cancel or view your subscription:

  • iPhone/iPad: Open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Bettie
  • Android: Open Google Play Store > Account > Subscriptions > Bettie

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

On the paywall or subscription screen, tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you originally subscribed.

Why is my carb estimate different from what I expected?

Carb estimates are generated by AI and are estimates only — not precise measurements. Portion size, cooking method, and ingredient variations all affect accuracy. You can refine any estimate by tapping Refine with Bettie to open the chat assistant and adjust the details.

Why isn't my glucose data showing up?

Check that Bettie has permission to read glucose data from Apple Health: go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Bettie and ensure glucose read access is enabled. For imported files, make sure you are uploading an export from Dexcom Clarity, LibreView, or CamAPS FX in the correct format.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Profile > Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your account, meal history, glucose data, and all associated information. This action cannot be undone.

What data does Bettie share with AI services?

Bettie uses OpenAI to power the chat assistant and meal history search, and Tasty API for nutritional analysis. Meal descriptions, food names, and chat messages are sent to these services. Photos and descriptions are sent to Tasty API for analysis. Blood glucose readings are never sent to any AI service. You can read full details in our Privacy Policy.
